The Internet of Things (IoT) or Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) is a key component on the way to digital transformation in the context of industry 4.0. COSATEQ has the know-how and the innovative software and hardware for the conception and implementation of machine-to-machine technology (M2M).
We support companies in all areas: from remote monitoring and telemetry to predictive maintenance.

INDUSTRY 4.0: Why will the IoT (Internet of Things) move into all production halls?
The competitiveness of companies can always be measured by the same factors: operational efficiency, reduction of production costs, acceleration of processes and successful implementation of new business models. Automation has already reached a high level in many industries through robotics and digitization. In logistics, too, the just-in-time supply of raw materials and parts to production has become ever more efficient through digitization.
In communication, however, many people still perform the interface functions between logistics and production, machine A and machine B, machine wearout and spare part ordering.
The next logical step in automation is therefore the establishment of direct machine-to-machine (M2M) communication, which is monitored by humans but no longer initiated. The IIoT (Industrial Internet of Things) is therefore considered to have the next great potential for increasing efficiency.

EFFICIENCY: Which advantages does the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) has in production?
With a consistent introduction and implementation of the Industrial Internet of Things, material procurement, production, and transport of material goods take place with the highest operational efficiency. Machine learning can be used to automate production processes which, due to their complexity, previously required human control and supervision. Processors can collect and process large amounts of data extremely quickly. On this basis, production processes can be adapted to changing requirements virtually in real time.
The engineers at COSATEQ Engineering are your specialists in the planning and implementation of intelligent networked machines and equipment. We know the often adverse industrial environmental conditions from over 20 years of experience in control engineering and embedded systems, and will find the best and feasible IIoT solution for your company.

OPC UA: How do the new standards accelerate M2M (Machine-to-Machine) communication?
The abbreviation OPC UA stands for Open Platform Communications Unified Architecture and describes a collection of specifications for industrial automation and M2M communication. The current version is from 2009, i.e. the requirements for IIoT were created more than 10 years ago.
The introduction and worldwide acceptance of this standard as a service-oriented, Internet-friendly architecture together with the MQTT protocol (Message Queue Telemetry Transport) forms the technical basis of the Internet of Things. On this basis all manufacturers and developers in the world can advance their ideas and innovations. Because standards always provide investment security and accelerate decisions everywhere.
When a solution is composed of IIoT modules from different developers, the clearly defined interfaces and protocols ensure a flawless exchange of information between sensors, machines, databases,
HMI , and much more.

VIRTUAL: Which solutions really make your Smart Factory smart?
For global value creation, IoT platforms often use the cloud to connect real production with the virtual data world. Companies use the cloud to network IoT and IIoT devices, implement data transmission security, collect data and link devices to backend systems.
With COSATEQ you take experts on board who ensure a perfect connection of existing PLC infrastructure - such as BACHMANN M1, SIEMENS S7 or BECKHOFF SPS - to the IIoT world.
